Kwik Cricket Tournament - Summer 2016

 

**Please note that the entry deadline is Friday 6th May for all competitions.  Strictly no late entries will be accepted after this time. This is to facilitate event organisation**

The Kwik Cricket tournaments will be held in the Summer Term and competitions will be overseen by David Moss (WASPS Cricket Secretary), the WCDG and Chris Guest (Staffs Cricket).

As per previous years, there will be three tournaments for schools to enter, however the year 5 festival has now been replaced with a new competition:

Open Year 6 & Under

This competition event is scheduled to be held during the end of May:

Qualification dates:

Tuesday 17th May 10:00am – League A - Fordhouses Cricket Club

Thursday 19th May 10:00am – League B - Fordhouses Cricket Club

Thursday 19th May 1:00pm –  League C - Fordhouses Cricket Club

Monday 23rd May 1:00pm – League D - Fordhouses Cricket Club

Monday 6th June 10:00am – Fordhouses Cricket Club (rain-off reserve)

Tuesday 7th June 10:00am – Fordhouses Cricket Club (rain-off reserve)

Please arrive at least half an hour before the due start time to allow from a prompt start. The event should last two and a half to three hours (weather permitting)

If entries are fair across the dates, the top two schools from each league will progress into the finals which will be held on Monday 13th June at Wolverhampton Cricket Club at 10.00am.

This all day event will be run by the Wolverhampton Cricket Development Group. Runners-up progress to represent Wolverhampton at the Black Country Games and the winners will progress to the Staffs Finals (details tbc). Please download the Year 6 and under entry form for this event.

Girls Only Year 6 & Under

This competition event will be held on Thursday 9th June at Fordhouses Cricket Club at 10:00am (rain off date Thursday 16th June at 10:00am). This competition should last approximately 2 and a half hours to three hours, depending on weather and number of teams. The winners of this event will be invited to play in county competitions. Runners-up will go forward to represent Wolverhampton at the Black Country Games. This competition is open to girls only. Please download the Year 6 and under Girls Only entry form for this event.

Open Year 3&4

This competition will be held on Monday 27th June at 9:15am for a 9:30am start at Wightwick & Finchfield  Cricket Club. This is open to year 3 & 4 children only with an all girls, all boys or mixed team. This is an all day event and should finish approximately 2:30pm to 3:00pm. Winners will progress to the county finals at Penkridge CC. Please download the Year 3 & 4 entry form for this event. Please note that this event is limited to 10 teams only.

Indoor Cricket Opportunity

Ed Slimm (Wilkinson Primary School), has booked the Bert Williams Leisure Centre Sports Hall for Friday after school from 3-4pm. This is intended for some indoor cricket matches between schools so that competitive cricket can be played in the closed season.
