Dynamos Mixed Year 5/6, Mixed 3/4 & Girls Only Competition

Venue:   Fordhouses Cricket Club, Wobaston Rd, Pendeford, Wolverhampton WV9 5HH.
When:   
Mixed 5/6 Competition: 04.06.24     Mixed 3/4 Comp: 06.06.24      Girls Comp: 11.06.24

Time:      9:30am for a prompt 10:00am – approx. finish 1:30pm/2:00pm

Who: Mixed Comp: Year 5/6 pupils - Squad of 10 - 8 players in a team per game – no subs in matches.

No g/b ratio.   

Girls Comp: Year 5/6 pupils – Squad of 10 – 8 players in a team per game – no subs in matches.

Girls only.      

3&4 comp: Year ¾ pupils – Squad of 10 - 8 players in a team per game – no subs in matches.

No g/b ratio.   

Matches: 8 overs each bowling/batting – bat in 4 pairs. Each player must bowl 1 over. Follow Dynamos rules.

(5-ball overs)

Kit:          PE Kit and suitable outdoor footwear, please ensure pupils bring a drink and lunch and sun

protection if required.

Equipment: Bring your own bats and balls to warm up / practise with marked with your school initials.

Photo/Media Consent:
All staff need to know of their photo consents. No photos will be taken by club/WASPS without teacher permission. Teachers to liaise between teams to agree photo/video consent and permissions.

 

Risk assessment: Please find a risk assessment for the activity below. However, please remember you are responsible for competently risk assessing other aspects of your visit. Please ensure appropriate staffing for your group and first aid cover.

Please be ready to umpire matches and keep score.

Particulars

·         Please note that this event is run in conjunction with Staffordshire Cricket and WASPS (Wolverhampton Association for Sports in Primary Schools).

·         The WASPS code of conduct applies to this and subsequent events and should be disseminated to children, young people, staff and parents. This is available on the WASPS website.

·         In order for schools to enter, affiliation to WASPS via ConnectEd or by separate payment to the WASPS committee must have taken place. This event is open to schools through the SGO route. Entry will be denied if this is not the case.

·         A generic risk assessment for this activity is available, however the overall responsibility of safety and welfare of children, staff and parents at this event remains with the school, with this risk assessment providing a guide to completion of the school’s own specific assessment.

·         GDPR Statement: Please note that details submitted to the relevant WASPS Secretary will be shared with the appropriate sporting bodies. This information will remain on file for the duration of the competition and will be destroyed upon completion and used for no other purpose without your explicit consent.

Parents

Parents are welcome to attend and support. If parents are helping with transport/ attending to spectate then they MUST comply with school policy and required DBS enhanced checks. They do not have permission to take photos, videos or use their phone during the event, unless discussed with the primary school teacher that is in charge of their child that day. Failure to follow venue instructions will result in parents being asked to leave the site. Parents must adhere to WASPS Code of Conduct throughout all events.
