Kwik Cricket Tournament - Summer 2018

Schools can now register their interest using the link on the right hand side of this page. Details of the various competitions will be provided during the year.

The Kwik Cricket tournaments will be held in the Summer 2 Term and competitions will be overseen by David Moss (WASPS Cricket Secretary), the WCDG and Staffs Cricket.

Qualification dates:

Monday 4th June 10:00am – League A - Fordhouses Cricket Club

Monday 4th June 1:30pm – League B - Fordhouses Cricket Club

Wednesday 6th June 10:00am –  League C - Fordhouses Cricket Club

Wednesday 7th June 10:00am – League D - Fordhouses Cricket Club

 

Please note, all league fixtures take place at Fordhouses Cricket Club, Wobaston Rd, Pendeford, Wolverhampton WV9 5HH. Please arrive by 9:45am for a prompt 10:00am start for a morning session and by 1:15pm for a 1:30pm start for an afternoon session. The event should finish, depending on number of schools, at approximately 12:30pm and 4:00pm respectively.

 

The competition will run as per last year with leagues taking place at Fordhouses Cricket Club, through which teams will qualify into the final at Wolverhampton Cricket Club on Monday 11th June, 2018. Winners of this final will go forward to represent Wolverhampton in the county matches at Cannock Cricket Club (TBC). Runners-up will go forward to represent Wolverhampton in the Black Country Games on Friday 29th June 2018 (time tbc).

 

Please ensure you have a person who is competent and confident in umpiring matches.

  • Please note that this event is run in conjunction with Staffordshire Cricket and WASPS (Wolverhampton Association for Sports in Primary Schools).
  • The WASPS code of conduct applies to this and subsequent events and should be disseminated to children, young people, staff and parents. This is available on the WASPS website.
  • In order for schools to enter, affiliation to WASPS via ConnectEd or by separate payment to the WASPS committee must have taken place. Entry will be denied if this is not the case.
  • A generic risk assessment for this activity is available, however the overall responsibility of safety and welfare of children, staff and parents at this event remains with the school, with this risk assessment providing a guide to completion of the school’s own specific assessment.
  • GDPR Statement: Please note that details submitted to the relevant WASPS Secretary will be shared with the appropriate sporting bodies. This information will remain on file for the duration of the competition and will be destroyed upon completion and used for no other purpose without your explicit consent.

 


Year 3/4 Competition

Please note, all fixtures take place at Fordhouses Cricket Club, Wobaston Rd, Pendeford, Wolverhampton WV9 5HH. Please arrive by 9:45am for a prompt 10:00am start. The event should finish, depending on number of schools, at approximately 2:00pm.

 

The competition is taking place at Fordhouses Cricket Club on Monday 25th June, 2018. Winners of this final will go forward to represent Wolverhampton in the county matches at Fordhouses Cricket Club on Tuesday 3rd July 2018. (times tbc)

The competition will run as per last year with the competition taking place at Fordhouses Cricket Club on Monday 18th June, 2018. Winners of this final will go forward to represent Wolverhampton in the county matches at Cannock Cricket Club on Tuesday 26th June 2018. Runners-up will go forward to represent Wolverhampton in the Black Country Games on Friday 29th June 2018. (times tbc)
